The type of therapy that I practice is Humanistic and Integrative which means that I draw upon a variety of theoretical sources that might help us to make sense of your experiences and what it is to be human. For me, ‘mental illness’ is typically driven by psychological trauma in some form and so my style of working is relational, meaning that I pay particular attention to the relationships in your life as well as what may occur between us. I firmly believe that many difficulties we might face as adults can be traced back to earlier formative experiences as part of the bonding process with our primary care givers. So bearing this in mind, I feel that therapy is most useful if practiced with warmth, safety and understanding whilst allowing for a deeper insight into our inner worlds. Entering into Psychotherapy treatment can of course be used for more practical purposes such as expanding upon your self-awareness or increasing your professional effectiveness. I work in accordance with the code of ethics of BCPC and UKCP. I am fully insured to practice and receive regular supervision to ensure that my practice meets the high standards expected of me. I currently hold a Diploma in Psychotherapy (BCPC) and an MA in Humanistic and Integrative Psychotherapy (Middlesex University). I hold full UKCP registration.
